Heat pump technology uses refrigerant instead of electricity to heat the air and recycles the hot air to avoid energy waste.

This way, it can monitor the humidity of the garments and generate the most appropriate amount of heat based on the load.

AI Control
Dry your laundry easily and effectively with AI Control. This feature lets you customize drying operations based on your habits and get helpful suggestions on which cycles to use* and instant information. The SmartThings app** offers helpful cycle recommendations, helping you plan tasks and resolve any issues. It also automatically selects the right drying program based on the wash cycle***.

AI Energy Mode
Monitor and reduce your dryer’s energy consumption. Thanks to AI Energy mode*, you can easily and instantly monitor energy consumption and predict it in advance. By selecting this mode with some programs**, you can reduce energy consumption by up to 20%*** by adjusting the inverter compressor speed and cycle duration.
* Available on Android and iOS devices. A Wi-Fi connection and Samsung account are required. Only available for compatible appliances connected to SmartThings.** This mode can be applied with the Super Speed and Dryer programs.*** Based on internal tests using the Super Speed program with the DV8400D model to dry a 5 kg load. Results: Energy consumption without AI Energy mode = 0.885 kWh. Energy consumption with AI Energy mode = 0.637 kWh. Results may vary depending on actual usage conditions.
Custom opening
Reversible door
The reversible door can open in different directions to match the layout of the furniture in the room. Simply change the opening side based on the installation location, the surrounding environment, and how you’re using it. The same appliances can open in the same way or in opposite directions. You can even go around walls!
